I feel confident that the students learned what was intended. The main ideas being taught within the lesson was to go back in the text to find or reinforce the answer and restating the question while writing the answer. Each student successfully completed the workbook page with little assistance. When a student asked me how to spell a word (that was in the reading) I asked them to refer back to the text. When the students realized that most of the words they were struggling with were in the text, they all got excited and relieved. I feel as though that this was one of the best strategies that I could have used in this situation.
The one thing that I was unhappy with throughout the lesson was towards the end. Instead of having the students write in the answer independently, I stated what I was writing too soon. As soon as the words escaped my mouth, I realized that in order to make the lesson more effective I should have had them finish the worksheet independently and then have them come back together to share their answers.
Overall, I feel as though the lesson went very well. There were little errors made on my part (and the students) and each student seemed to understand the meaning behind the lesson.
