Wondering: What discussion strategies will most effectively engage students to collaborate with peers?
The most powerful formative data collected this week is in the form of course readings/research. These articles provided me with further insight into my inquiry. One of the major concepts that I took away from this research is to ensure that the students are comfortable and confident when participating in class discussion. This can be ensured through incorporating humor. Additionally, I was able to reveal various discussion strategies that I may implement in coming weeks. I believe this learning is important to my inquiry because I have a better understanding of the importance of student comfort in relation to their collaboration. Based on the data that I have collected, I still wonder how these primary students will respond to the more complex discussion strategies.
