Wondering: What discussion strategies will most effectively engage students to collaborate with peers?
My inquiry relates to discussion strategies and collaboration in the primary classroom. This week I learned that students require explicit directions prior to the implementation of the discussion strategy. This will avoid any conflict (that my students experienced). I believe this learning is important to my inquiry because it will inform my implementation the discussion strategies. The students will benefit from explicit directions. In order to assure that the directions are clear and the students understand them, I will have them repeat the directions back to me/tell the class.
